Castel Ringberg is surrounded by 15 hectares of vineyards from the wine-growing estate of Elena Walch. Castel Ringberg is Elena Walch’s most important location, high above the Kalterer lake, in the midst of South Tyrolean viniculture, with a very mild climate 300 m above sea level. The chalky and barren soil is an incentive for the vines. Around Castel Ringberg several wines are cultivated, among them three riserva wines: a Chardonnay which is cultivated in barrique barrels, a Lagrein from an autochthon type of grape from South Tyrol, and a Cabernet Sauvignon. All three wines stay in the small wooden barrel for a long time. They all got several national and international awards. Elena Walch’s wines combine fruit and elegance and have a special personality.
